This project was initiated by the
City of Welland to determine
appropriate solutions for ongoing
flooding issues in the
Empress watershed, draining to
Ontario Road Pumping Station.
Accurate calibration is key to any
modeling project used for assessing
alternative solutions. Kerry T. Howe Engineering Limited ensures details are paramount.
Details for the Ontario Road Station
pumps, including pump curves for
VSDs, were important considerations
in order to obtain accurate calibration,
as shown in an example on the right.
A model is only as good as the confidence it commands. Kerry T. Howe Engineering Limited has the background to assess anomalies in the system. This project included variables
such as pump shutoff; overflows; pipe surcharge; siphons; storage at Lyons
Creek Holding Reservoir; Dain City, and Commercial Street pumping.
Kerry T. Howe Engineering Limited prides itself on its ability to create combined system
models with confidence, based on years of experience with separation projects.
A unique blend of software skills, with local municipal engineering experience enables
our company to produce accurate models with successful design alternatives.
