A progressive, employee-owned, full-service consulting firm, Kerry T. Howe Engineering Limited (KTH) specializes in offering comprehensive municipal engineering, project management, and construction administration and inspection services.

The company has built up an impressive portfolio of experience across Niagara over the past seven decades, covering a broad range of municipal, residential, industrial, commercial and institutional projects.

Our multidisciplinary engineers, field specialists, and project management teams bring a streamlined approach and vast expertise to any size of project, while working closely with municipal and/or private clients. Offering a full array of services, KTH’s depth of knowledge on infrastructure and constructability issues is unsurpassed, whether designing new systems or expanding existing ones. LEADERSHIP TEAM

Kerry Howe Jr., P.Eng.

President

Mr. Howe is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering. With over seventeen years of experience, he has led municipal infrastructure and land development projects throughout the Niagara Region, specializing in water, wastewater, and roadway systems.

As Lead Engineer, Mr. Howe is responsible for overall system design, technical reporting, project management, contract document preparation, and construction administration. His experience includes road reconstruction and full municipal servicing projects involving watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and forcemain replacement and rehabilitation.

Mr. Howe has extensive experience designing water distribution systems in accordance with Ontario’s Design Guidelines for Drinking-Water Systems and recognized industry best practices, including standards and guidance published by the American Water Works Association (AWWA). His technical expertise includes hydraulic analysis, fire flow assessment, valve chamber design, pressure zone evaluation, and the integration of municipal servicing within constrained urban corridors.

He also has significant experience in trenchless design and rehabilitation methods, applying best practices consistent with the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT). His project experience includes horizontal directional drilling, guided auger boring, pipe rehabilitation, and bridge-supported installations.

In roadway design, Mr. Howe applies current TAC Geometric Design Guidelines and works closely with municipal and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable approval requirements.

As President of KTH, Mr. Howe oversees staffing, resource allocation, and project execution to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. His practical, solutions-focused approach and strong command of regulatory standards contribute to the consistent success of the firm’s municipal infrastructure projects.

Jeffrey Jaeger, P.Eng., C.E.D

Principal Engineer

Mr. Jaeger is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and is a designated Consulting Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario. A lifelong resident of Niagara, he brings over thirty-five years of experience in the planning, design, and management of municipal infrastructure projects throughout the region.

His expertise includes road reconstruction, sanitary and storm sewer design, watermain design, sewer separations, hydraulic modeling of water distribution and wastewater systems, stormwater management planning, drainage studies, flooding assessments, and emergency infrastructure rehabilitation. He has extensive experience delivering projects in accordance with Ontario municipal servicing standards and MECP regulatory requirements, including environmental approvals and agency coordination.

Mr. Jaeger has led numerous municipal and private development assignments from preliminary design through construction, providing technical oversight, contract document preparation, cost estimating, tendering support, and construction administration. He regularly liaises with municipal staff, governing agencies, utility providers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations.

His in-depth knowledge of local infrastructure systems and municipal processes enables him to identify practical, cost-effective solutions to complex servicing challenges.

As past President of KTH for sixteen years, Mr. Jaeger played a key role in guiding the firm’s growth, mentoring technical staff, and maintaining its reputation for responsive service and dependable project delivery.

Michael Jamieson, P.Eng.

Sr. Project Manager

Mr. Jamieson is a graduate of the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering. With over ten years of experience, he plays a key role in the delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects across the Niagara Region.

As Senior Project Manager, Mr. Jamieson is responsible for overall system design, technical reporting, contract document preparation, project management, and construction administration. His experience includes capital budgeting support at the municipal level, master servicing studies, development servicing, road reconstruction, and full municipal servicing projects involving watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, forcemain replacement, and sewer separation.

Mr. Jamieson has led numerous projects from preliminary design through to construction, providing technical oversight, cost estimating, tendering support, and coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. His strong understanding of municipal infrastructure systems and construction practices enables him to deliver practical, efficient design solutions.

As part of the KTH leadership team, Mr. Jamieson works closely with technical and field staff, providing mentorship and guidance to support successful project delivery. His collaborative approach helps ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT STAFF

Nate D’hoine, P.Eng.

Municipal Engineer

Mr. D’hoine holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from McMaster University and a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Fanshawe College. As a Professional Engineer, he contributes to the planning and design of municipal infrastructure and land development projects across the Niagara Region.

His experience includes stormwater management design, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, capacity analysis, grading design, and municipal servicing coordination for subdivision and site plan developments. He has supported sewer and watermain design projects, stormwater management facilities, and drainage infrastructure improvements in accordance with municipal and MECP regulatory requirements.

Mr. D’hoine is proficient in hydraulic and 2D flow modeling using HEC-RAS and PCSWMM, including floodplain analysis and stormwater system evaluation. His background also includes experience in fluvial systems assessment and regional floodplain mapping. In addition, he is an experienced Civil 3D designer with several years of municipal and residential land development design experience.

Having held roles in site inspection, project coordination, civil design, and technical support, Mr. D’hoine brings both field awareness and analytical expertise to each project. His well-rounded experience allows him to support projects from preliminary analysis through detailed design and construction.

James House

Senior Draftsman/Site Inspector

Mr. House is a graduate of Mohawk College in Architectural Technology. Mr. House has over Thirty (30) years’ CAD drafting experience. He has been responsible for all aspects of drafting for municipal works and private development projects including road reconstruction, sanitary and storm sewer replacements, watermain replacements, and subdivision design and lot grading. Mr. House is also responsible for overseeing the drafting of record of construction drawings. Mr. House has been able to apply his CAD design knowledge and experience out in the field while successfully completing construction inspection services.

Tyler Pitman

Senior CAD Specialist

Mr. Pitman is a graduate of Niagara College in Construction Engineering Technology and a prior Civil 3D Specialist with Autodraft Inc. Mr. Pitman have overs sixteen (16) years’ experience and is responsible for detailed design of municipal works and private development, including road reconstruction / sanitary sewer / storm sewer / watermain / subdivision design. Mr. Pitman is well versed in corridor creation and also production of 3D renderings. With his advanced CAD knowledge and background Mr. Pitman is able to maximize the power of the AutoCAD software to ensure state-of-the-art solutions for our client’s projects.

Lauren Durant, C.Tech

Project Technician

Ms. Durant is a graduate of Niagara College in the Civil Engineering Technician Program. Ms. Durant has over ten (10) years’ experience and has been responsible for preliminary design and design of municipal works and private development projects including road design, sanitary and storm sewer designs, and watermain design utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D. In addition to her CAD design skills, Ms. Durant has developed considerable experience with Sokkia Robotic Total Station and GPS survey equipment as well as construction inspection completing numerous topographical surveys and construction inspection projects throughout the Niagara Region. Her CAD and field knowledge allows for a seamless integration between design and construction producing efficient construction timeframes. Ms. Durant has also gathered experience providing construction administration on various projects, making her well versed in a variety of field and office disciplines.

Brett Telepanich

Senior Construction Inspector

Mr. Telepanich is a graduate of Mohawk College in Civil Engineering Technology. Mr. Telepanich has over Thirty (30) years’ of experience overseeing the construction of municipal and private development projects which included various activities such as pre-engineering data collection, construction quality assurance, contract document execution and adherence, record keeping, and monthly payment certificate development. He is well-versed with the full spectrum of municipal requirements including OPSD, OPSS, and Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Documents as well as liaising with area utilities, municipality representatives, and residents.

Benjamin Lantos

Intermediate Construction Inspector

Mr. Lantos is a graduate of Mohawk College in Civil Engineering Technology. Mr. Lantos has over five (5) years experience on construction of private developments and municipal road, sewer and watermain projects. He is familiar with Regional and Municipal requirements and standards including OPSD, OPSS and Niagara Peninsula Standard Contract Documents and is skilled in liaising with area utilities, municipality representatives and residents. He is also part of the KTH topographical survey crew using our Sokkia Robotic Total Station and GPS survey equipment.
